Responsibilities & Context
The Clinic Floor Coordinator ensures smooth daily operations within the veterinary clinic, overseeing assistants, supporting doctors, and maintaining efficiency during both routine and emergency cases. This role bridges communication between veterinarians, assistants, and the operations team to ensure every animal patient receives timely and well-coordinated care.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify workflow improvement opportunities to enhance the quality of veterinary care.
Supervise and assign assistants to veterinarians, surgeries, and support tasks.
Ensure every doctor has a veterinary assistant ready before consultation hours.
Confirm the surgery room is sterilized, stocked, and equipped before each veterinary procedure.
Oversee assistant performance and hygiene standards in all patient-handling areas.
Respond quickly during emergencies by reallocating staff and preparing the veterinary emergency setup (IV fluids, oxygen, crash kit).
Conduct daily stock checks for veterinary consumables—syringes, IV sets, gloves, disinfectants—and report shortages to the Operations Manager.
Train new assistants in patient handling, restraint, hygiene, and post-surgical care.
Hold weekly short refresher sessions on veterinary protocols such as wound dressing or safe feline restraint.
Review assistant performance weekly and report updates to the Operations Manager.
